RBT Club Show 2022 Critiques

Many thanks to the hard-working RBT committee for this invitation and their hospitality. It was an enjoyable day, it had a great atmosphere, and I had some lovely dogs to judge too.
Judge Mrs Jean McDonald-Ulliott

Veteran Dog or Bitch. (4) 2
1. Hammond “Jaybiem Keasha at Koschei” 7-year-old female with a good head-piece, endearing expression with a lovely eye. Good ears, strong neck, lovely shape, standing on strong legs, well-off for bone.  A tad short in rib cage, but she had a strong topline. She just did enough on the move. Well put together female. Would have just liked her to have used those legs to full advantage. She was wearing a good jacket.
2. Newton “Lintweed Diva” Another pretty female with a good eye, with typical expression. Standing on lovely tight feet and straight legs, correct shoulder and upper arm, although her topline let her down; it was a bit dippy. Shapely quarters. Sadly, again I don’t believe she was putting her all into the movement. In very good coat, well presented.

Puppy Dog. (1)
1. Blair “Blasius Beauty Anatolu Cjw11 (Imp Hun) Typical young male of 9 months with a lot of maturing to do. He has a good head, eye, ear and bite.  Not the best of fronts, his right leg let him down both standing and on the move; it was at 10 past 12 throughout. His chest will develop along with topline hopefully as he matures on. It’s a very slow process in a young large breed. Exercise and free running must be at a minimum till his growth plates close. His topline is ok and he has a strong neck and loin with correct croup. Given time I hope he develops on. Not the best of movers today.

Junior Dog. (3)
1. Rigby “Ya Namaste Tara’s Sarja for Omiant (Imp Deu)
” This eye-catching young male is out of the top drawer.  At only 13 months he is full of breed type. This boy can only get to the top.  Presented and handled to advantage, his handler just got the best out of him. He is strong in body, has great bone without coarseness, in great coat, wonderful handsome head, correct bite, eye, ears, strong arched neck flowing into correct shoulder and upper arm. Stands on good legs, good forechest, correct topline and a good backend.  He drove round the ring totally at sync with his handler. One to watch. I wish all the best for the future.
Best Male He pushed the Best Female very hard for Best In Show
2. Perks “Scott Black Legend (Pol) Ir J Ch Another handsome young man of only 15 months. Standing, and on the move, he looked the part.  He had a good head, bite, eye and ears, strong neck, ok shoulder, strong topline, shapely quarters with strong hocks. Good bone and substance throughout. A very balanced young male of good breed type. I liked him a lot.
3. Clelford “Keng Forein Blek Berkut”

Limit Dog - No Entries

Open Dog (5) 4
1. Bull “Fortuna Feeria Nikita Kozhem Jaka" (Imp Deu) Another good import of quality, again full of breed type. He has an excellent coat, lovely bone, with a correct lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. He has a good handsome head, strong neck, and correct topline.  Would like him to tighten up all through. Hopefully that will come with maturity.  Moved well.

2. Stone “Fortuna Feeria Lexis" (AW4) (Imp Deu) From same breeder as first and similar comments apply. Not quite as good as first in front, but another handsome male. Shorter coupled than most, he’s wearing a lovely jacket. I would have liked a bit more angulation at the rear but an honest enough male who moved ok.
3. Newton “Funnords Maximilia at Lintweed (Imp Rus)”

Puppy Bitch (2)
1.  Rigby “Frieda Cierny Sen for Omiant. (imp Svk)” At just 8 months what a sweetheart.  She’s a lovely balanced shape, has the prettiest of heads, beautiful melting expression, dark well-shaped eye, excellent neck and shoulder along with a good topline. Good movement, really striding out and driving from behind. In between coats just now but that will come. A super youngster with a bright future.  Best Puppy
2.  Norton and Thomas. “Victoria With Luck at Carantana” Not as positive in movement as first, but an honest young female. She has a good headpiece, good length of neck and straight front. Ok shoulder, but dips in topline. Hopefully that will improve with maturity. She has shapely quarters and strong hocks. Wearing a good jacket.

Junior Bitch (2)
1. Murphy “Dromnagus Dragon Lady”
Interesting class to judge 2 nice juniors similar in type. I now see they are from the same kennel. I really was nit-picking here…but it was movement which was the final decider. She has a pleasing head on a correct arched neck, in good body with sufficient bone, lovely topline. Both standing and on the move she looked the part. Moving effortlessly with good reach and drive. In good coat.
2. Perks “Dromnagus Way of the Dragon" (Ir Jun Ch) Slightly lighter build than first, also a tad shorter in loin, but has good breed type, strong feminine head but not coarse, good strong arched neck, shoulders ok, deep chest, would like more strength behind. In good coat.

Limit Bitch (5)
1.  J& R Mercer “Fortuna Feeria Lamborghini Diablo"
(Imp Deu) A 3-year-old female at the top of her game. She is in beautiful condition and well turned out, in great coat. She is honest and well-made, has good ribs and bone. She has a lovely head. I loved her overall shape, great quarters, and on the move it all came together. She thoroughly deserved her first place. Full of breed type. Reserve Best Bitch

2. Newton “Zoznobas Nadezmdin Oi Poliany at Lintweed” (Imp Rus) Good presentation, in lovely condition with a good coat. Ultra-feminine head with melting expression, totally balanced, well-made throughout, in good body with correct depth, correct topline, shapely quarters. Sound on the move and did all her handler asked.

3. Murphy “Dromnagus Dragon Lady” Winner of junior bitch.

Open Bitch (6) 2
1. O’Donnell “Kalaslane Revenge for Neukiebear" (IKC) Built on larger lines than most but very impressive in all departments. A strong girl, but not one bit coarse, presented in beautiful condition in super coat, she’s full of breed type. Strong body. Has correct depth, good head with a gentle expression. She is free flowing on the move, using her firm powerful quarters, clean shapely outline, excellent side gait. Very outgoing and a definite showgirl. Handled to perfection. Best Bitch and Best In Show
2. Murphy “Dromnagus Dragon Lady” Winner of junior bitch.
3. Newton ”Lintweed Black Bertha”

Good Citizen Dog/Bitch (2)
1.  Norton and Thomas “Kalaslane Judge Judy at Carantana" (IKC) Larger type, longer in loin, typical head, strong neck, well ribbed, ok shoulder, topline ok, strong quarters, well let down hocks used on the move, and at one with handler.  She has a great coat.
2. Norton and Thomas “Aveyrew Hot Gossip at Carantana” Very different to her above kennel mate.  I see now the same owners. Very feminine. An honest well-made bitch with a typical head and kind expression. Good front, correct topline, not as strong behind or as positive on the move.

Brace (2)
1. Norton and Thomas First and Second in the Good Citizen class. These girls made a good brace, moving around the ring almost in sync with each other.
2. Hammond “Jaybiem Keasha at Koschei plus Dromnagus Dutch Gold at Koschei”
